Smedia’s Netbook Winner

and the winner is...

and the winner is...

As I wrote about previously we were a sponsor at the recent Smedia Awards. We were sponsoring two categories, Website of the Year, won by Queens University for www.qubsu.org and the new category Blog of the Year, won by  www.tallyman.ie.

A great night was had by all at The Mansion House(great venue, giant circular room). Have a look over on flickr for some photos of our night at the Smedia’s, we were lucky enough to get snapped with Kathryn and Daithí, the pair were in flying form on stage I must say, they weren’t going to let the place go without a bit of cheeky fun that’s for sure.

Sam Sara across the road was packed for the after-party as well, people were in great spirits after a great night, I hear there was plenty partying late into the night also.

My pick for review of the week

For all the animal lovers in Cork there are two great places to read up on:

A great review of a Dog Groomers in Cork by Jillknock, how often will a place let you go away and come back later on with payment -- not many that’s for sure! Or how about a Vet in Cork -- Lou can’t speak highly enough about this one, they even have thank you cards in the shop -- that’s how good they are.

Have you’ve been looking for a pet rat -- well read on -- Funky Filly sheds some light on the subject in her review of Clondalkin Pet Store.

Maybe you like reading about Goldfish in The Bloody Stream, a popular place recently -- maybe it’s the good weather attracting them up to Howth.

Any stand out reviews for you? Leave a link below so we can all share the review goodness (don’t worry they don’t have to be animal related).

Last bonus points awarded to a Corkonian

After 4 weeks of bonus points we eventually send some down south :)

Have a look/listen as Annmaire O’Connor from I Blog Fashion announces her review of the week at Bow Boutique in Powerscourt Town Centre in Dublin City Centre.

The winning review is ironically of a little swap shop in Cork called Lisboa -- how apt :)

So now we’re all out of experts and therefore all out of bonus points -- so now the hard slog is all you have to ensure your place on the flight to Lisbon June 18th -- get your typing fingers ready!

Go anywhere nice and new this weekend with the sunny weather, tell us all about it, I’d love to hear.

1,500 points goes to…drumroll please

Niamh went to one of her favourite haunts, Queen’s Beauty Emporium, to get her make up done but more importantly to announce her pick for reviewer of the week and winner of 1,500 bonus points.

Congrats to the winner -- another leap in the right direction for a trip to Lisbon. Remember only one judge left to impress and then you’re on your own!

Last chance for bonus points!

Annmarie O'Connor

Annmarie O'Connor

Our final judge for the Lisbon competition is Annmarie O’Connor, a freelance fashion journalist, stylist and blogger. She has worked with the likes of Dazed and Confused, Elle, The Sunday Times Style, The Irish Examiner, The Afternoon Show and Xpose. When she is not chasing trends and designers or lying about her spiraling shoe habit, she can be found sharing style sound bytes at I Blog Fashion.

Annmarie has now graced us with her hot finds over on truvo.ie. She explains why all dry cleaners are not infact the same and tells us where she goes for all her alteration needs in Dublin.  On top of all that she highlights the top boutiques to find the latest trends, have a peek at Annmarie’s truvo profile for more.

This is your last chance to impress our judge and gain 1,500 points for your team…make those reviews insightful, personal and helpful. Find out how all teams are getting on over on the competition site.

Bon chance :)
