As part of our new Lisbon competition, where you join up with 3 friends and compete to be in the top 3 teams to win a weekend away to Lisbon, we are giving away bonus points for the next 5 weeks. So as to be completely unbiased we have enlisted the help of some expert judges to award the 1,500 bonus points  to the lucky teams.

Ciara Whelan

Our first judge is the lovely Ciara Whelan from The Holiday Show on TV3. We’ve nabbed Ciara inbetween trips abroad to check out the reviews on the site. All next week(starting march 8th) Ciara will be checking in to find who she thinks is the best reviewer in the competition.

As Ciara is well into her travel I’m sure she’ll be keeping an eye on all travel related reviews -- hotels you’ve stayed in or sights you’ve visited. Ciara herself is giving some great advice on where to grab a snack at Dublin Airport. Check out Ciara’s profile on truvo.ie for more great tips. Judges will be looking for all round contributors to the site -- useful and interesting reviews are the way to go! Not only that but all photos and guidebooks made will stand to you when your profile is being reviewed.

The reviewer of the week will be announced on the Tuesday after(so in this case March 16th) -- giving the Judge some time to thrall through your reviews.

How do you win?

Fenn's Quay Cork

Our next truvo.ie get together is going to be on in Cork in Fenn’s Quay restaurant Saturday March 13th at 5pm.

First of all I choose this restaurant because it has such glowing reviews on the site. With 4.5 out of 5 on the ratings and such words as ‘cannot praise this restaurant enough‘ featuring in two different reviews we’re going to head in and see what all the fuss is about.

Kevin who runs the restaurant (along with his partner and the head chef) is going to treat is to an educational evening of wine and beer matching -- curious to find out more? me too? The food and drink will be on truvo.ie -- more details to be confirmed closer to the date.

The First Wednesday Club meet up is on in The Mint Bar(6.30 start) in The Westin Hotel in Dublin city centre. This is a networking event for marketing and business professionals and it looks like they have a decent list of attendees so far.

March 6th -- Sat
Two Door Cinema Club at The Button Factory for only €13 -- and tickets are still on sale.

March 11th -- Thurs
The 2nd Dublin foursquare street up is on in Café Novo in The Westbury Hotel -- it’s sponsored by Bacardi and everyone who checks in can make their own free cocktail -- sounds good to me!

I popped out to Dundrum Town Centre on the Luas on Saturday(nicely missing all traffic and parking problems). It seems like there’s always something going on out there, and plenty of freebies to be had, we made off with at least 6 bars of Galaxy Bubbles and a cookie from Vodafone. I also got this great little photo set of me and my niece thanks to a promotion going on from The Body Shop for their new perfume, Love etc. It was really nice to get an actual photo for a change -- I haven’t got a printed photo in… well I can’t even remember.


Did you get your photo taken? -- click here to find yours, be patient there’s quiet a few pages of them in there. The perfume is actually really nice aswell -- very sweet!

I definitely recommend a trip to Dundrum especially on a rainy day, we were able to shop, watch the rugby match in the bar and I even got my hair cut at a walk in hair dressers -- they don’t take appointments which was super handy for me as I decided totally last minute I wanted a cut and Peter Mark was all booked up for the day and Toni And Guy is super expensive so I didn’t even ask them.

Welcome to the Truvo.ie Review Show Blog! Each month we will be recording a brand new show packed full of recommendations to places all over Ireland.
